I have a wide variety of instruments from different sizes and price categories with bows and cases to lend out for students for short or long time periods at an affordable price.
I worked out two possibilities for talented children (and their parents). Some of my violins and cellos can be rented with proper setup, good strings, bow and a used case.
I worked out two possibilities for talented children (and their parents). Some of my violins and cellos can be rented with proper setup, good strings, bow and a used case. Those, who decide to buy a smaller instrument from me for their child, as the child grows, they can bring the previously bought instrument back to me, and I will subtract some of the instrument’s value from the next instrument’s price. This way once they need a full-sized instrument, and may be able to afford a good quality instrument more easily, as a part of the instrument will already have been paid.

At the beginning of the rental, I always ask for a deposit, which will be paid back, if the instrument is in order at the end of the rental duration. You also need to have an ID with you, or any official document with a photo on it, a copy of which will be kept for the duration of the rental.
A standard case, bow and string set is included in the rental fee. The bows should be rehaired once a year, the price of which is paid by the customer. For a better sound the customer can buy their own string set. The customers who do so, should make sure to get the appropriately sizes strings for their instruments (there are also strings sized from 1/8 to 4/4)!
